Villa Le Vieux Lavoir

Villa Le Vieux Lavoir: a Beautiful renovated old `Mas` (1810) with large pool (12x6m), living area of about 210 m2 and located within walking distance of the village center of the Provencal village of Saint Paul en Forêt. At about 30 minutes from Cannes and Fréjus and 15 minutes from the Lac de St. Cassien. The villa is fully equipped with airconditioning in all bedrooms. The villa is available from 2 - 6 persons and there is a beautiful cottage, with 2 bedrooms, which can accommodate another 4 persons. This makes this accommodation available from 2, up to 10 persons.

The format of the villa is as follows; driveway, entrance villa, hall with wardrobe, toilet and access to the living room with fireplace, dining room, open kitchen with all appliances and French doors to the terrace located on the `park-side`. Through the hall the first 2 bedrooms, on the ground floor. These bright bed- rooms share the first luxury bathroom with shower, washbasin and separate toilet. The stairs leads to the landing with cozy sitting/library area, dressing room and spacious master bedroom with double bed. Here is the second luxury bathroom with double washbasin, shower, bathtub and a separate toilet.
Near to the villa the luxury cottage is situated next to the swimming pool which offers two studio`s, each with its own terrace, double bed, luxury bathroom with bath and shower and separate toilet.

This genuine family accommodation is situated in a well maintained private `park` with two entrances, beautiful terraces, a fruit garden and several ponds, fed with water from the old French `Lavoir`. In ancient times the people from the area cleaned their laundry here.
This accommodation is fully equipped with WIFI & Airconditioning and offers you wonderful opportunities for an unforgettable and carefree holiday!
The pool can be heated at a surcharge.

In the high season you can only reserve this accommodation with a minimum stay of 1 week; arrival and departure on Saturday. Outside the high season we will consider reservations with a minimum stay of 4 nights and other arrival and departure days might be possible. Please make an inquiry, and we will let you know if your request will be possible.

If you want to book this accommodation, you also agree to the following terms:

Linnen package and final cleaning: € 450
In between cleaning (obliged with a stay of 2 weeks and longer): € 90 and upon request change of linen package € 25 p.person
Pool heating: € 140 per week
Tourist tax: max € 4,40 per adult (18+) per night
Administration fee: € 55 per booking

IN THE HIGH-SEASON THE RETAL INCLUDING THE COTTAGE IS OBLIGED for a plus of € 100 per night, which offers a stay of max. 10 persons

The Pays de Fayence consists of 9 charming high-altitude villages: Fayence, Tourrettes, Montauroux, Tanneron, Mons, Callian, Seillans, Bagnols-en-Forêt and Saint-Paul-en-Forêt.

A true Provençal `Tressure` not far from the French Côte d`Azur, the Pays de Fayence offers a wide range of activities thanks to its beautiful landscapes, between mountains, hills, lakes and plains. One of these lakes, in the heart of the beautiful ` Massif de Esterel`, is the lake of Saint-Cassien, with atmospheric little creeks where you can swim, pedal boats or enjoy yourself in one of the many restaurants and bistros. Its size also makes it an ideal lake for windsurfers. The original function of this lake is the production of electricity (the dam is 210m long and 66m high), the supply of water to the eastern Var and to several towns in the Alpes Maritimes but also storage for irrigation reserves.

In the Pays de Fayence, the town of Fayance is the largest of these villages. A very attractive village and a pleasure to explore with a wide choice of cafés and restaurants. Walking through the streets of Fayence, a visit to the old traditional stone washing place (Place Gabriel Peri, at the bottom of the old town) and an old communal bread oven (dating back to the 16th century, follow the signs to the `Four du Mitan`) is well worthwhile. The ornate carvings in the stone lintels above the doorways and the numerous traditional Provençal fountains are beautiful as is the 14th-century entrance through the original city walls (the Saracen Gate).

Among religious sights, the church of Saint Jean Baptiste (18th century), or the chapel of Notre Dame des Cypres, the oldest Christian church in the area in the centre of this original medieval village are highly recommended.

At the top of the hill behind Fayence, just beyond the remaining fragments of the castle that once stood here, stands the bell tower, surrounded by a viewing platform that offers very far-reaching and impressive views, in almost all directions. Actually, all the above-mentioned traditional Provençal villages in this region are a delight to discover as well as the village of Saint-Paul-en-Forêt, which became an independent municipality when it separated from Fayence in 1824. Numerous walks through the pine forests, along Lake Riouviard, and even a little further afield, in the canyons of the Verdon, make your visit to this area well worthwhile.
